ADJOURN QAL SChedule

The Adjourn QAL is officially a 9 week event, running from February 13th through April 17th, but you may notice in the schedule below that there are bonus weeks! If you’re anything like me, once the quilt top is done, I tend to need motivation to get it basted, quilted, and bound. What better motivation than to finish your quilt alongside friends? So, if you want to join in on an extra-long QAL, make sure to check the box in the sign up form to continue to receive content through May 8th.
(No worries if you need more time to finish your quilt or decide to join later, all content will be on my blog, so you’ll always have access to it!)

Adjourn FabrIC Requirements & Recommended TOols

The Adjourn QAL officially begins February 13th, but I suggest you start thinking about fabric now, especially if you plan to purchase fabric online. The Adjourn Quilt is fat quarter friendly, so if you like a scrappy look, find yourself a fabric bundle you love (you’ll need at least 8 fat quarters or 24 fat eighths) plus coordinating Color A and Color B fabrics. Need some help picking out colors? Get the original cover colorway here from my shop or check out the beautiful quilt kits available from these shops:

This pattern can really be done with whatever tools you have on hand, there’s nothing special required! However, this is a very intricate pattern with lots of little pieces, and there are a couple tools that might make your life easier!

The first is the Stripology XL Ruler by Creative Grids. This one will make cutting all those little strips a breeze!

The second is the 6-1/2 inch Square Ruler by Creative Grids. You can definitely use any ruler larger than 6-1/2 inches to square up pieces on this quilt, but pairing this ruler with the rotating cutting mat below will make it that much easier.

And last is the 14 x 14 inch Rotating Cutting Mat by Fiskars. As mentioned above, pairing this with a 6-1/2 inch square ruler will make trimming your squares go (nearly) lighting fast!

PRO TIP: If you use multiple ruler sizes for the pattern, I highly recommend using all rulers of the same brand. Every brand measures a tiny bit different and I’ve found that, for this pattern in particular with all it’s tiny pieces, incremental differences in dimension can throw things off quite a bit.

Last, but certainly not least, below are the Adjourn fabric requirements so you can start planning your quilt now!

Can’t wait to quilt along with you!
